It depends on how bad your eyesight is. If you’re eyesight is just a little to moderately bad then you’re probably better off with the surgery. When you get into the higher levels of myopia the surgery my not correct your sight 100%.
I hate wearing contacts but I’m one of those they can’t guarantee my sight will be corrected 100%. I won’t get it done unless I won’t have to wear contact again.
Whatever you decide…make sure you get a good doctor who has lots of experience with the procedure. A friend of mine had to have a second operation to correct the mistakes from the first.
I’ve had LASIK done about 2 years ago. It was an awesome, easy, and painless procedure. I am soooo happy to be out of contacts and glasses! For those you are not candidates, (depending on measurements), there are other procedures available.
I have a real problem with someone wanting to shoot a weapon into my eyes so I’ll stick with the glasses, thank you.
i had the operation done about a year ago…. because i could not wear contacts and was getting really tired of glasses.
it is true that you walk in – walk out and your eyes are better…
just be warned no matter what anyone tells you don’t have anything planned for the next days, the healing process hurts and photo sensitivity is a b…ch.
good luck
I’ve already been evaluated and approved so as soon as at least one of my two outstanding settlements come in, I’m making an appointment! For me, the worst case scenario is that I will need glasses to drive . . . I can live with that.
I have thought about it as i have worn contacts for many years. But i also love mountaineering and climbing. I have read many instances where climbers with lasik have lost their sight temporarily in altitude who have had lasik. It is because your cornea is altered like a convex mirror to make things seem clear. So altitude creates and pressure and has the ability to change the cornea more creating temporary blindness. I got a hold of a lasik doctor and let him know this and they were not even aware of this problem! so for me lasik no way!
poor eyesight take a shot
when i get a little older i’ll go and have lasik done cause glasses really suck and i dont really want contacts!
