I’m thinking about getting Lasik done. I know the costs are around $1200-2500 but i’m wondering is it worth getting? If it helps with answering I’m near sided.
1.)What side effects do you have after wards? including long term.
2.)Does it hurt?
3.)Is it worth it?
Please if you have had Lasik done I would really appreciate your answers

I had my eyes done day before Christmas last year. Best Christmas present EVER!! I would do it again in a heart beat.
The procedure didn’t hurt (all laser procedure) and was very quick, I think I was in the OR less than 10 min. After the numbing drops wore off they got sore. First 24hrs were the worst, not screaming pain but uncomfortable. The drops helped quite abit. Second day progressed to uncomfortable, third day and rest of week varied from fine to uncomfortable, caused by bright light or staring. After that just some dryness. Used lost of lubricating drops for 4 weeks after and noticed needing them much less often. And night time halos went away. My night time vission is awsome. I went most of the summer(humid) without drops. Now that its drying up I’m needing them more often, about twice a week. Also take note I work in a very dusty environment.
It cost me about 3800 for both eyes with lifetime satisfaction.
1) i have difficulty driving my car at night, because my eyes are very sensitive to bright lights now, and other car’s headlights have a “halo” effect, which makes seeing at night very, very, very difficult
2) yes, its hurts like hell. even though its “laser” surgery, they still have to use suction cups and razorblades to slice open a flap of skin for the laser to go through
3) absolutely it was worth it. 5 years later my eyesight is great. no glasses, no contacts, no nothing. just wake up in the morning and im good to go
however i would never, EVER have the procedure again. if my eyesight gets poor again in the future i will just wear glasses. i am never doing that surgery again. it could count as a form of torture
