I Am Getting Lasik Surgery In My Eyes, How Long Before Do I Have To Stop Wearing Contacts?

it depends on your current Rx and the type of contact that you use. I had to leave mine out for 10 days, my wife had a stigmatism and had to leave them out for 2 weeks. Two other close friends only had to leave them out for 4-5 day. We all had the prodcedure done by the same doctor. So I guess you answer is that there is no correct answer until the doc tell you specific to your situation.
Congrats on the surgery. I had my 1yr check up today and my vision is better then perfect (20/15)!!!!

yeah, if they’re soft lenses…2-3 weeks. if they’re gas perm or “hard” lenses…6 weeks.

At our office we tell the pt to be out of CTL for at least 2weeks for soft and 4wks for hard.

It will be at least a week and a really contientious doctor will require a couple of weeks or more. Contacts keep your eyes from changing shape very much and going without the contacts will give them a more realistic view of the landscape (for lack of better wording) of your cornea. The last ophthalmologist I worked for always told patients 14 days…then he would have a technician run a corneal topography to ensure that the cornea was in good enough shape to be successful during the LASIK.
