Some vision plans will help with lasik surgery, but most do not. The doctor that I work for charges $1.500 per eye. Best of luck.

generally insurance will not cover any Lasik surgery, however check, you never know. Ive seen some that do. you can expect to pay around 1500 an eye give or take 500. i know my old clinic ran specials around graduation time and it would drop to 999 an eye (1000). also, like the other person said, if you have astigmatism it can increase the cost. do a lasik consult, usually about 100 bucks and they do all the measurements and let you know if your a candidate and then you can schedule from there. do not be surprised though if they mention waiting cause your cornea isnt stable. it has to be stable with no changes to prescription for them to cut on it.

I just had my eyes done last week and it cost me $999/eye. I have heard of some being $2000 or more per eye and some as few as $500/eye. It all depends on where you go and what needs to be done also. Some may charge one flat rate and some can charge $500/eye but it is extra for astigmatism. I am located in Upstate New York and there is a place in Syracuse, NY that has doctors from Canada that does it. This place is called LasikMD and the site is LasikMD.com. I did not have it done there because it is a drive for me to go get it done there and have post ops. I know many people that have had it done by this group in Canada and they loved it and were glad to hear that it was now located in Syracuse.
About the health insurance part. Health Insurance does not cover LASIK, although I do have MVP Health Insurance and they will do a discount of 10%-15% if the LASIK doctor participates. So it may be something you will have to look at with your health insurance.
If you want to know if I would recommend having LASIK, the answer is 100% yes if done by the right doctor. I can see better now than I did with my glasses and it has been less than a week. I now have 20/15 vision as of my appointment yesterday.

HEALTH INSURANCE WILL NOT COVER ANYTHING. IT IS CONSIDERED COSMETIC SURGERY. COST DEPENDS ON WHO YOU GOTO. I HAD IT DONE LAST YEAR WITH DR. FILUTOWSKI IN FLORIDA FOR $5100. I THINK THE COST ALSO DEPENDS ON YOUR PRESCRIPTION AND HOW MUCH CORRECTION IS NEEDED. I KNOW PEOPLE WHO PAID LESS THAN ME AND THEIR EYE SIGHT WAS NOT AS BAD AS MINE.
