I’m considering LASIK but can’t decide between traditional LASIK with the metal blade and IntraLase with no metal blade. IntraLase costs twice as much as standard LASIK.
I’ve had consultations with doctors who do both. Each say it’s safe so I’m still confused.
Which type did you have. Are you happy with the results? Any side effects?
Have You Had Lasik? Is Intralase (no Metal Blade) Worth The Money?

My husband had the lasik with the metal blade a few years ago. He couldn’t believe that he could actually see as soon as it was over. He didn’t have any problems afterwards and says its the best thing he’s ever done……medical wise. Well worth the money. He only needs reading glasses which they told him that he would. Its actually saved us tons of money because we no longer have to buy glasses, contacts, and the solutions to take care of them. Good luck and you’ll be glad you had it done!!!
Well, I haven’t had it myself personally, but a lot of friends swear by it, and are glad that they got it. My brother got it India through India Health Guru Consultants, and he said it was great Lasik eye surgery helped millions of people to be able to see, without the help of contacts and glasses. It will help you too, but make sure you get the right doctor for the procedure. After the surgery, one feels mild discomfort or pain for a couple of days. The procedure itself is not painful because they give you anaesthetic drops to numb the eye. For the first week, one may have sensitivity to light as blurry vision and dry eyes. All these side effects disappear within a few days and. The process is simple, safe and fast. They are making big improvements in this field, so it’s probably worth it if you can afford it and don’t need to use your eyes for a few days

I am not sure, my mum has had glasses pretty much all her life, its a hassel, but look at it this way, you dont mess around with your sight, If it were me, i’d go the no blade option, cause the blade one would freak me out. But I think it only takes a couple of hours, then you have next to perfect vision for life, so to be able to see without contacts/glasses i’d happily pay the $3,800 -$4,000.
I had the IntraLase and I love it. The only thing that sucked about the whole lasik in general is all the eye drops you constantly have to do and for about a week or 2 after wards my eyes were so sensitive to any light and they kept watering on their own
