The first thing, and the most important thing, that you need to consider when it comes to laser eye surgery is whether the surgery is right for you. Consult more than one doctor and take their advice they will tell you better than us.
Lasik surgery too has its associated risks one such is the development of halos, double vision that causes problems who drives at night, night life gets distracted, but this problems are all temporary and will disappear within a few days. So no need to worry much.
Please use the link, and read about different aspects of vision correction surgery. It will be of some help.

That is really impossible to tell just by seeing your prescription.
Your prescription is well within the range that they do, but some other requirements have to be met also.
Only an opthalmologist at the laser clinic , after doing several tests can determine if you are a good candidate or not. There are several factors that can affect whether it can be done.

I had Lasik and my prescription as they wrote it down was OD:-6.50-1.25X020 OS:-6.50-2.00X167
I have no idea what all of that that means but I was a candidate and I got it done. My eyesight right now, since I am only 3 and a half weeks after, they haven't checked it yet but my vision is close to perfect for my every day needs. My left eye seems to have turned out a bit better than my right.
I also have large pupils and the opthalmologist told me that either because of that, because of my prescription or something else, she would not recommend me to have the regular lasik but to go with their new zyoptix laser instead and I know they weren't just saying that to make me pay more because I talked to some other people in the waiting room and some had been given a choice between zyoptix and lasik.
If you are a candidate or not also depends on other things, the thickness of your corneas etc. so before you go pay for a flight to the US to find out that you may not be a candidate, maybe you should make an Italian friend to take with you as translator to a lasik place there.
