Has Anyone Had Any Bad Experiences With Lasik?

I had the procedure done over a year ago. I had good results, went from a +6 to +2.5 (not perfect but a lot better). The problem is that now I have a problem with seeing lights in a dark setting (ie night driving) and I have floating debre in my eyes. HAs anyone else had problems?

My father had lasik and has had problems ever since the surgery. He has to take drops because his eyes are constantly drying out and his vision gets very fuzzy. He went for a second opinion on the surgery to see if anything was done incorrectly, but could not get his records from the doctor who performed the procedure. He feels that something went wrong the doctor is not telling him about, because it has been over a year for him also and he is still having problems.

What you are describing is quite normal after having Lasik. In dim light settings or when driving at night , unfortunately, many people who had Lasik experience halo and glare. Custom/Wavefront Lasik is an advancement in Lasik which helps in minimizing these effects but nothing is proven to completely avoid this. Most people with high order abberations, which contribute to this issue, are advised to go for with Custom Lasik but like I mentioned…it’s just a way to minimize the issue…It doesn’t make any guarantees of complete elimination. If I were you I would make an appointment for a follow up with the surgeon to see if you would qualify for an enhancement since you were undercorrected..good luck!

I have two friends that had some problems, on e had to have surgery again. I guess like with any surgery, that are risks involved. My wife and two bros-in-law had it , and they see perfectly with no problems at all

Ever notice how ophthalmologists seem to always have glasses? They don’t even put contacts in their eyes much less undergo the surgery.
