I had it done 10 years ago and couldn’t be happier. That being said, you must do your research. Choose a well-qualified surgeon who will establish your candidacy prior to performing surgery. Have more than one opinion as well. Most centers will give you a free consultation.
Lasik eye surgery is booming! And if done by a qualified practitioner is very safe. I understand, though, why you think it’s scary : )

It’s such in interesting procedure!
I’ve had it done and do not regret at all. BUT, do know of a couple people who had problems. Make sure you research the doctor – ask people you know who have had it done. The thing that stuck with me was that my doctor told me he would rather “under” correct than “over” correct. Mine couldn’t be done 100%, but I am satisfied. The process is very “simple” but a slight miscalculation can be devistating. Good Luck!
Probably. But watching a video is different from having it done.
I had bladeless custom lasik. Many places dont do bladeless yet but it is safer and the best method now.
I can see better than 20/20 and the procedure took less than 10 min! It was so quick that I didnt have time to be scared.
The risks associated with lasiks is mostly associated with BLADE cutting lasiks. Less risk with bladeless.
Also you can have 1 eye done and then go back and have the other eye done later if you are really scared about it.
i haven’t had the surgery, but my friend has. unfortunately, her vision is better, but she is now “Tunneled vision” and is very blurry. She regrets the surgery and wishes she kept the glasses. And she went to a hotie-totie surgeon at UCLA. Scary…
not very likely to happen but it does happen.
