  1. Hello says:

having lasik surgery does not exclude you from wearing contacts after the fact.

  2. Kelly C says:

You can wear colored contacts after lasik, but you will have to wait for your eye to heal before you can do so. Just call an eye doctor and ask them the specifics!

  3. LasikExpert - Glenn Hagele says:

As a general rule it is possible to wear contact lenses after Lasik surgery, but there may be some exceptions.
Lasik works by reshaping the cornea (clear front of eye) in a process that removes tissue. If you are myopic (nearsighted, shortsighted) then tissue is removed from the center of the cornea. If you are hyperopic (farsighted, longsighted), tissue is removed from the outer edges of the cornea.http://www.usaeyes.org/lasik/faq/lasik.h…
If you have a very high eye prescription it is possible that Lasik will change the shape of the cornea enough that some contact lenses will not fit comfortably. If you have had Lasik, a trial with the colored contact lenses will determine if they can be worn comfortably. If you have not had Lasik, ask your eye doctor to determine if you are likely to have trouble.
Lasik can sometimes cause or exacerbate dry eye problems. Dry eyes and contacts do not go together well. If you have had Lasik, ask your eye doctor to affirm your tear quantity and quality. If you have not had Lasik, be sure the doctor evaluates your tearing function and advises you of any elevated concerns.
Maintenance and hygiene of contact lenses is always important, but is especially important for anyone who has had eye surgery of any type. Be sure you follow all the rules.
