In the United States it is recommend that only persons over the age of 18 receive Lasik or similar laser vision correction eye surgery. There are extreme cases of children receiving Lasik, but they are very, very rare.http://www.usaeyes.org/lasik/faq/lasik-a…
I work for a nonprofit Lasik patient advocacy organization that evaluates and certifies Lasik doctors. We do not provide Lasik.
While age is an issue, what is much more important is if your eyes are stable. The changes made with Lasik are permanent, but your eyes will continue to change at the same rate after surgery as they did before surgery. You don’t want to go through the trouble and expense of Lasik and then need it again in a couple of years. A good indication of stability is if you have had the same eye prescription for the past 2-3 years.
The only way you will know for sure would be to have a comprehensive examination by a competent eye doctor. You may want to see if there is a Lasik doctor near you who our organization has certified…http://www.usaeyes.org/lasik/doctor/loca…

Yes you can get this done. It can be done at any age.
You really have to ask your doctor. When I was wearing contacts my prescription changed every year till I was 26 or 27.
You are one picky person, I would think you can get it done, but it would be better at 22-25 really, but whatever floats your boat, maybe contacts are not for you.
you can if your perscription hasn’t changed for atleast 2 years. the reason for this is because your body is still growing, so doctors want to make sure that it is done at a point when you have stopped growing. it would be pointless for you to get it done again if you haven’t finished growing yet.
soodnt be any problem
Most of the laser eye surgical places give free consultations about whether or not a person is a candidate for the surgery. If you call them, they will book an appointment for you, and you will be given very thorough eye exams. Your age should have nothing to do with preventing you from having the surgery.
I had the surgery done five years ago and I’m very happy with it. I should mention that if you currently need glasses for reading or close-up work, then you will still need glasses for reading. The laser surgery normally corrects only distance problems (beyond 2 feet or so). Ordinary, drug-store reading glasses are fine for use for reading. A pair of $10 glasses works just as well as my old $400 prescription glasses. But call the company and get their advice and take advantage of the free eye exam.
You may be able to have a consultation for Lasik, but most providers want to wait until your 20s. That is because, like the rest of your body, your eyes change through development, and the script in your eyes should have time to stabilize before getting the procedure done. Otherwise, the risk of failure is much higher.
You should be sure to get routine vision exams every year until you qualify as a candidate. This will help the consulting physician establish a good history for you.
I hear that it is not recommended until you are at least 21, since doctors say that your body is done developing. It can be done at any age though.
No, you’re supposed to be old enough so that you’re vision won’t change drastically anymore. Some people’s vision doesn’t stop getting worse untill their 35, some 18. Once you go a few years without your changing perscription you should be able to get it done. My sister was 26 when she got it done.
Yes, you can. Doctors recommend that your prescription be stable for two years before you have the procedure done in order to have the best results.
