definitly not. last time i was at the doctor’s he asked about my drug intake. I tried to be all intellectual and said “well I do enjoy smoking marijuana from time to time” and he just nodded and I saw him just write “pot smoker” down, lol. It is actually against the law for them to tell on you because of doctor-patient confidentiality. They could lose their license for breaking that bond.
i don’t know if he can legally tell or not?? i guess if they cops asked the doctor then he could tell them but he won’t just tell them randomly… in the US, it is not illegal to smoke pot, it’s just illegal to posess, sell, grow it!
it’s always best to be honest with doctors so they can treat you more effectively
ABSOLUTELY NOT. Your doc is restricted by HIPAA rules and the confidentiality agreement which you most likely signed. All patient conversations and literature are confidential. Even emails are bound by that rule! It’s good that you are upfront about your drug use. It will ensure a better outcome.
Well first off Dr patient confidentiality only means Dr.s are not forced to tell on you. However having smoked pot in the past is not a crime. You have to be high or sell it or have it on you to break the law. So even if he did tell on you it doesn’t matter no one would care.
i wouldn’t tell him. just re-schedule the surgery until you feel more comfortable. and no the dr has to observe patient to dr confidentiality. he cannot tell anyone except your parents if you are under 18 and it is a risk to your immediate health.
no. he cannot. doctor patient confidentiality. and he wouldnt bother telling the cops even if he could, its only pot
I know in California they can’t. It’s ALWAYS best to be honest with your Doctor to get the right diagnosis and treatment. Tell the Doctor.
No. It is a violation of Federal (and most States’) law. Your Dr. has a duty to keep the information confidential.
No, your doctor cannot disclose that information without your signed consent.
No they can’t! Doctor patient confidentiality. But ya might not want to smoke before or right after your procedure.
NO. Doctor-patient confidentiality works for almost everything.
no he has to respect your patient/Doctor confidentiality.
Nope If he does he is violating patient doctor confidentiality
if he does, you can get everything he has.
No they have to sign a Hippocratic Oath, which allows patient confidentiality.
Stop smoking it, have the procedures. Now, you don’t have to say anything. Solved…
Nope …. Dr. / Patient confidentiality
no doctor patient confidentiality
no. the have this thing called the hipocratic oath and they cant tell anyone anything about you. Even if its like a matter of life and death
any thing with a doctor is strictly confidential
no. he wont tell on you
and even if he did, the cops arent going to bust u for a lil bit of pot.
no because you have to possess it or sell it to go to jail
or get caught while smoking.
no there is a law about doctor-patient confideniality
no; its confidential =]
there are very lucrative rewards from the cops these days and you may well get busted if you let that out
No. If you are underage he could tell your parents. I’m not sure why he would bother though.
Yes , he can and will tell the police . It is his sworn duty .
Not likely
doctors have to keep der **** confidential so yea.
There is a thing called patient dr privillage so I would say NO!!
We’re too busy to care or bother. Don’t worry about it. But I must tell you that you’re killing your brain.
