i am interested in lasik surgery and i keep reading about horrible outcomes. even in people who are satisfied with the results, say they see halos and starbursts but they are still happy. is there anyone who has had this done that are completely satisfied with no complications? i’m thinking about canceling my consultation and being thankful that glasses exist.
it all depends how bad your vision is. if you can still manage to see without your glasses, I say stick with glasses.
I had lasik done a yr ago, my vision was bad I was -7.50, I would sit in front of a computer and see nothing. I would feel vulnerable the most at night, when i would hear noises and see nothing. I used contacts, because sometimes is more convinient and you know…vanity. But I have really dry eyes and contacts would make it worse, my eyes were always red and irritated,
But now that I had the surgery, of course my eyes are still dry, which is also a side effect of the surgery, but other than that I have no other complaints. Sometimes the halos and all that depends on the quality of surgery you got. Remember if you ever have it done, do some research on the type of equipment and compare, when it comes to your eyes…dont be cheap. Also it depends on how well you take care of it afterwards, protect your eyes from the sun and light for a couple months after the surgery.
Good luck on whatever you decide
Lasik side effect will be differnet for everyone. I had done lasik and there are side effect of dryness and halos. But it only occur at certain time of the day. An on and off timing. I had done it for three months already and the above condtions have improved a lot. Had 6/6 vision and just waiting for the side effect to be gone.
Lasik surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and Lasik surgery in India by a company called Indian Health Guru Consultants. The Price for dental and Lasik surgAery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.
Indian Health Guru Consultants is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, Lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
